The report finds many mortgagors are in serious financial difficulties (1.1m households) and similar numbers in private rented sector (1.2m). In addition, 1.8m in the social rented sector are in serious financial difficulties.
The greatest percentage of mortgagors in serious financial difficulties are those not working due to poor health, caring or unemployed.
